Dr. Osama Abounar, President of the Festival, stated that the third edition will introduce several new programs and sections. He noted that, for the first time, multiple cultural and educational venues across Suez Governorate will host festival activities, including screenings, seminars, and masterclasses.
He explained that the festival is keen to involve students and trainees from various artistic disciplines in its activities, including the organization and supervision of competitions, workshops, and masterclasses. This participation aims to provide them with practical experience in filmmaking and in organizing film festivals and cinematic competitions.
Meanwhile, Ziad Basmeer, the Festival’s Executive Director, said that preparations for the new edition began immediately after the conclusion of the second edition last year. He emphasized that the festival opens its various cinematic activities and sections to young talents working in the field of very short films, including writing, cinematography, directing, and editing.
He added that competition entries are limited to films produced in 2025 and 2026, noting that submitted films must not have previously participated in any Egyptian film festival.
Basmeer further explained that, since its launch, the festival has sought to bring its films to the widest possible audience through screenings and activities in different communities within Suez Governorate and beyond.
